On The Road Again
1st Annual Kevin Sherry Memorial Run
On 14th May 2000, over 50 of the oldest and rarest
vehicles ever seen on the roads,
of Monaghan and Cavan, went back 'on the road again'.
This video tracks these beautiful machines as they
wind their way from Monaghan through Ballybay,
Shercock, Carrickmacross and on to Inniskeen for a well earned rest.
Here the enthusiasts visit the Patrick Kavanagh
Centre, where they are given a brief insight into the life and times of the legendary poet.
After a cup of tea and a chat it's time to get back 'on the road again'.
From Kavanagh Country, the convoy heads for Castleblayney, then to the scenic village of Glaslough, before the picturesque Emyvale and then back to the Four Seasons Hotel in Monaghan Town for a bite to eat.
Here the Kevin Sherry Memorial Trophy was presented to the owner of the best over all vehicle as well as other
awards in other categories.
Narration is by Peadar Mc Mahon
Running Time 100 mins approx
