On the October bank holiday Monday every year since,
The Bon-
Other neighbours and friends bring along their threshing mills and other farm machinery, so they can transport all who attend this fund raising day on a special trip down memory lane.
The field day is one thing, but the goings on in the barn that night is something different a host of local artists sing, tell stories and dance at Shannon’s Harvest Ball.
In October 2001, a local TV programme producer Tommy Mc Ardle brought along some cameras and produced a 26 minute programme for the Leargas series on RTE television. In it some of the rare shots of this video were included.
